Snowy days

We had lots of snowy days this past week, Caitlin had the entire week off of school because of it.

I tried to find things to keep the kids busy since we were house-bound. I remembered when I was a kid and I'd freeze ice cubes with food coloring outside and then make "ice sculptures" with them. Little did I know that the act of filling up the ice cube trays with the colored water would be the big, exciting activity for the kids!

Being the mean mom that I am, I gave them tiny little spoons to fill up the trays from the bowl of water beside them. They did not seem to mind that it was a completely inefficient way of doing it. In fact, they loved it! Kept 'em busy for a good 30 minutes. That's a success in my books.

It was great having Caitlin around all week. She's really sweet to her brothers. One afternoon she convined Owen to play dolls with her (not that it was all that hard to convince Owen since he's such a follower and will do whatever Caitlin tells him to)

Even Noah got in on the action, he kept giving the doll hugs and kisses:

Caitlin really wanted to make s'mores one day, and so we did (using the oven as our way to roast the marshmallows)

Caitlin spent a lot of time reading to herself and her brothers:

(no, Owen is not asleep...it just looks like it)

And, of course, we played outside!

Noah refused to wear gloves for the first hour we were out, he just kept pulling them off everytime I'd put them on...

...until finally his hands got cold enough and then he started pointing at my gloves and whining, which meant he wanted them. So he wore my gloves the rest of the time.

Yeah, being stuck at home eventually got to us all:
